The first A2B Workshop on ”Athletes and Career Programmes” has taken place on 6 May, 2010 at the premises of INSEP in Paris.

Central to the workshop was the question: What can be done for athletes to create and enabling environment for dual career?

For this purpose, a varied group of experts such as athletes, members of the European Commission or the International Olympic Committee enriched the A2B project work. Speeches on existing studies and good practices in this field further increased awareness. In interactive discussions, the group exchanged first-hand knowledge to finally produce recommendations on the above question.

Special to the seminar was the hosting at the premises of A2B partner INSEP known as an outstanding example of good practice in the field of reconciling top-level sporting achievement with a professional career. INSEP contributed with an overview of its expertise during the workshop.

The next A2B Workshop will be held in mid July in Vienna and deal with the topic of “Businesses”.
