The Finnish Olympic Committee (founded in 1907) promotes and develops Elite Sports in Finland in co-operation with its 56 member associations (mainly Sport Federations) and with the Finnish Sport Federation (SLU), Ministry of Education, FINADA and other organizations involved in elite sports. Since 2001 the NOC of Finland has been responsible for national co-ordination and development of athletes’ educational and career planning issues and offered services within this area to the athletes.
